A Family Within the Family:

The Story of House Groups at Harvest Mission College, Greater Noida

Carmel, Olive, Sinai & Horeb – Where Faith, Fellowship, and Growth Flourish

At the heart of Harvest Mission College lies a unique and vibrant tradition that shapes the spiritual and social life of every student—our beloved House Groups. More than just friendly teams, these four houses—Carmel, Olive, Sinai, and Horeb—form a family within the family, fostering growth, leadership, and unity among students from every background.

Carmel House – The Fire of God

Named after Mount Carmel, where Elijah called down fire from heaven, Carmel House embodies passion, boldness, and faith. Students of Carmel are known for their fiery zeal for evangelism and their strong presence in worship and outreach activities. With a rallying spirit and bold prayers, they inspire others to stand strong in the face of spiritual battles.

Olive House – The Spirit of Peace

Symbolizing healing, endurance, and the anointing of the Holy Spirit, Olive House is marked by its gentle strength and nurturing spirit. Members of Olive are often found mentoring younger students, leading in prayer groups, and offering quiet strength behind the scenes. Their focus on growth and restoration makes them pillars of peace in the HMC community.

Sinai House – The Voice of Covenant

Mount Sinai, where Moses received the Ten Commandments, stands for discipline, obedience, and revelation. Sinai House students are thinkers, organizers, and servants of order. Known for their strong leadership in academic forums and their love for Scripture, Sinai is where truth meets responsibility. They carry the call to walk in covenant with God—and challenge others to do the same.

Horeb House – The Whisper of God

Mount Horeb is where Elijah heard the still small voice. Horeb House represents humility, prayerfulness, and sensitivity to God’s presence. Members of Horeb are intercessors, worshippers, and spiritual encouragers. Often leading in prayer chains and spiritual retreats, Horeb students remind the college community that God often speaks through the quiet and faithful.

Healthy Competition & Deeper Connection

Throughout the academic year, these house groups compete in spiritual challenges, academics, sports, music, and mission tasks. The excitement reaches its peak during House Week, where unity, teamwork, and God-given talent shine. But beyond the competitions, these houses offer something deeper: belonging.

Students find lifelong friends, accountability partners, and spiritual family within their house groups. Senior students disciple juniors, leaders emerge, and everyone grows together.

One Vision, Four Expressions

Though different in color, name, and style, the houses of Carmel, Olive, Sinai, and Horeb share one purpose—to grow as disciples of Christ, equipped to serve the Church and impact the world.

At Harvest Mission College, these houses aren’t just groups—they are movements of transformation, building godly leaders from the inside out.
