HMC Library is a small and Beautiful Library known as the special Library to the educational community. It holds a special collection based on Religion, Theology and relevant books from other streams also.
A total area of Library divided into two sections; one is for study hall and another half for book section. In the study area has seating arrangements for students carried with 14 Desks and Benches. At a time more than Sixty (60) students can study with a maximum of individual space. The Study hall and the Book section have proper Lighting System, Fans and Coolers to regulate with any Season or situation. It has one main entrance door and two windows natural encouragement for relaxed study
The book section has classified with the help of DDC- Dewey Decimal system of Library Classification by MELVIL DEWEY, who initiated DDC Classification, as known as the father of library science. Books are defined by its spine label and barcode label. Spine label has filled with call Number the combination of Classification Number and Author Number. Barcode is known as Accession Number of the book that which is a unique one with readable bars, Book section divided as reference section and general section, non-documentary materials, thesis etc.
Total Number of books exceeds 10000, including reference, thesis etc. Journals and Magazines with the subscription process are on. Books are shelved by 18 single side iron racks and 11 double-sided wooden racks.
HMC Library maintained by one librarian and one assistant librarian with 4 regular part-time library working people from student side as well as assisted by 10 more students for the imperative situation from girls and boys respectively.
In the academic year of 2018-19, HMC Library moved into the next level and equipped for the digital purpose that had been systemized by the library automation management software KOHA. KOHA is a Library Management Software where many Institutions prefer to get a new ambiance in their Libraries. The Modules of KOHA is based on Circulation, Book Acquisition, Scheduling and Book Entry, Cataloguing, Patron creation, Label generating, Day-to-day schedule, Serial Control, End day reports based on MARC and SQL etc.,
HMC library had one Circulation Desk and two systems have running as digital milieu with the blood livings of Author, one for Librarian and another one for Students OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue).
There are different services in HMC Library those are Reference Service, Referral Service, CAS- Current Awareness Service, SDI- Selective Disseminative and Information, Bulletin board service and Mailing etc.,
Not only that Students are encouraged to customize with various websites and forums for their study materials and electronic learning purpose like eGyankosh, National Digital Library of India (NDL), Internet Archive.org and Google Scholar- Where they can stand on the shoulders of Giants.
Additionally, we are receiving a weekly newsletter through the mail from various institutional Knowledge outlet. Surplus, HMC Library had CALIBRE software to encounter with 17,000 e-books for the usage of students.
The mission of HMC Library is to bestow proper knowledge about God, stir up students to know about the present evil world, empower them to become a good soldier for Christ in order to proclaim Gospel to the people where unreached society.
The vision of HMC Library is optimistically leading the people to do service unto God; Declare Jesus is the Lord of the world. Whatever they seem, they could see the flag of Calvary. Wherever they are, that land should be the possession of Jesus.
